There are a few tell tale signs that fall is around the corner! The days start to get shorter, the kids are back to school, the leaves start changing colour and the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back at Starbucks! I don’t know about you but I’ve had my fill of hamburgers, hotdogs and potato salad this summer and I’m feeling the need to tighten things back up around here! It’s things like the tempting Starbucks ads that can make your healthy living goals a little tricky! After all, fall isn’t really fall without that warm, pumpkiny, spicey goodness now is it?! Eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to miss out! Every year at this time I post this Clean Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe to many great reviews! So why not grab your favourite mug out of your cupboards and make yourself a cup of this delicoiusness?
Pumpkin Spice Latte
1 Cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)
1 Tbsp vanilla
2 Tbsp applesauce or apple butter
1 1/2 Tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 cup coffee
Mix in your blender for 10 seconds. You can pop it in the microwave to heat it up and drink it hot or pour it over ice to enjoy it as an iced latte. Sprinkle the top with a little cinnamon for an extra special touch.
If it seems to thick, add a little more almond milk and/or coffee
* If you are feeling really fancy, you can add some coconut milk whipped cream to the top! *
